Redstone Telecom appoints Nick St John as Managing Director

Redstone plc has appointed Nick St John as managing director of Redstone Telecom, its SME voice and data service business which supplies over 14,000 organisations in the UK.

St John brings the experience of a successful 25 year career in international communications to Redstone. He is a specialist in driving business development and growth, having run a number of multimillion pound businesses in the sector successfully.

In the 1990s St John held various senior sales, marketing and customer service positions at BT Wholesale and was responsible for BT's relationship with large overseas telecoms providers. He then worked for a number of start-ups, including being deputy MD at Telemonde alongside Kevin Maxwell, where he helped to steer the company to floatation on NASDAQ.

Kingston Communications then followed, where, as one of the regional directors, he was responsible for taking the company nationally, beyond its roots in Hull. At nPower, St John established the utility's telecoms business from scratch, building significant new revenue streams in fixed line, broadband and mobile. nPower later sold this business successfully to Tiscali as part of its telecoms offering today.

St John's key priorities at Redstone Telecom are to drive incremental revenues from an existing and new customer base. He will also seek to integrate the company’s existing service and solutions portfolio and build an enhanced world class customer service organisation and develop products and solutions in line with customer demand. He also intends to increase collaboration and cross selling with other Redstone plc companies, including Redstone Converged Solutions, Redstone Managed Solutions and Redstone Mobile.

St John replaces Redstone Telecom's previous managing director Eddie Buxton. Nick is a keen tennis player and golfer who also enjoys watching rugby and cricket.
